"Jake, sit down!"
Yelled the teachers at my elementary school, I could hear the frustration in the voices of my elementary. They probably couldn't wait to get home and escape the classroom, while I was just another kid with Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
The disorder that everyone asks if you ever take a break to breath, relax, or sit down. The short answer is Yes, the long answer is No.
Growing up, I hated to read write, or do anything school related instead. Instead I would rather be running around outside playing with friends or my siblings.
When the thought of college came up, I would always turn away and switch the topic to something els.
I had no interest in going to college, let alone go to a University ten and a half hours from home. The main reason was because of my ADHD.
Having ADHD, doesn't mean it was just a struggle to focus on one thing, it was more of a belief that everything demanded my immediate attention at once.
The classroom with its rigid structure and quiet expectations often felt like a cage. I always found a way to distract my self tho.
